THE VORAVIA SERIES
The Voravia series of historical novels, set in the 1530s, tells of the rise of Peter Salt from humble origins as an apothecary's son, first to squire to King Charles IV of Voravia and then, upon his knighthood, to Lord of Applestoke. His efforts to improve the lives of the impoverished people of his estates are interrupted by his enemies both within Voravia and from Voravia's powerful neighbour, Sloronia.
In parallel is the story of King Charles heir, the fifteen-years old Princess Lucia, 'Lucy'. She too is faced with danger and has to plan and fight to maintain her accession against her enemies.
The stories are in the tradition of the Prisoner of Zenda but with teenage heroes. There is no magic, the young people have to survive entirely by their brains, courage and physical strength.
They will appeal to adults who enjoy a swashbuckling adventure story and good readers aged ten and over.
